Johnny Johnson Wins the 4th White Mountain Bass Club Top Ten bass tournament at Willow Springs Lake, July 1st 2001

Television host Johnny Johnson, after a 4th place finish last month at Rainbow Lake, weighs in 8 lbs. of bass to win the 4th White Mountain Bass Club Top Ten Tournament at Willow Springs Lake July 1st. This almost assures him a top five finish overall to get into the championship tournament at the end of the season. Johnny has been holding strong to first place in points all year, with his nearest competitor being almost 22 points behind.

Fishing was very slow with only 4 teams bringing in fish. At right is Johnny Johnson and Jim Dovey with their first place fish. They actually had three, but one got away as they prepared for this picture. Luckily, it was after weigh-in. Sorry guys!
Fred Deifenbaugh big fish and second place
Second place went to Fred Deifenbaugh with one big lunker at 4.79 lbs. Fred won last months tourney at Rainbow lake and has been moving up steadily in the point standings after missing the first tournament. Fred also took home the 1st Big Fish prize with this bass.

Third Place went to Doug Coplan(right) with two fish at 4.67 lbs. Doug now sits in 2nd place in points/pounds, nudging out Bob Swanson (left) who lost what was estimated to be a 2 pounder just an hour or so before weigh-in. Doug has been rising steadily in the overall standings and will most likely be competing in the championship tournament. It's of note that Doug was fishing by himself, as his amateur partner couldn't make it to the tournament.
