Johnny Johnson and James Guin

Back to Back wins for Johnny Johnson

Television host Johnny Johnson wins two in a row, taking first place last month at Willow Springs lake, and a BIG first place win at Fool Hollow Lake, July 29th. Why BIG?.... This assures him a top 5 finish, earning him a ticket to the championship tournament at the end of the season and..... May likely earn him the coveted "Angler of the Year" award, to which all aspire. Johnson won't go as far as saying that it's in the bag, but the numbers don't lie. With only two tournaments left, he's a whopping 29.37 points ahead of his nearest competitor, Bob Swanson, who has always put the "What if" in Johnson's aspirations. Johnson and amateur partner James Guin finished the tournament with 7.87 lbs. of small mouth bass, beating second place by over 4 lbs. Guin also took home the Big Fish award, and Johnson took home the Second Big Fish award.

Fishing was very slow after about 6:30am. Fool Hollow Lake is probably the toughest lake on the circuit and is scheduled for 3 out of the 7 tournaments this year. At right is Johnny Johnson and James Guin with 3 of their 5 fish, totaling 7.87 lbs.
Bob Swanson and Dino Felkins
Second place went to Bob Swanson and Dino Felkins, weighing in at 2.57 lbs. Bob and Dino started off slow, missing the morning bites, and having to pull off what many might deem a miracle, by catching two fish later in the day when the fishing turned horrible. Good Job!

Third Place went to Fred Deifenbaugh and Reese Simpson, weighing in at 2.06 lbs. Reese won the amateur division in the first tournament at Fool Hollow Lake this year. Fred Deifenbaugh (Pro) is holding his own by placing in the last 3 tournaments, one of which was a first place win ( left ). Keep up the good work!
