Sweet Redemption!

Last month at Rainbow lake, Bob Swanson lived through every tournament fisherman's nightmare.. He got skunked. It happens to the best and Bob is no exception. Redemption came at Willow Lake on May 19th with a vengeance. Bob and amateur partner Nathun Koreny weighed in 5 fish for a total of 12.22 lbs., with Nathun taking home the Big Fish award in the process. With a cold front moving in and a bazillion Mph wind blowing in their faces, Bob and Nathun resorted to jigging around the dam and following the bank toward the inlet where Nathun managed to reel in the big fish of the day weighing 4.02 lbs. Bob also managed to pull in the 2nd Big Fish weighing 2.99 lbs. Bob complimented Nathun by announcing that he wishes he could draw him every tournament. Nathun placed 3rd in the amateur division at Rainbow last month and now sits in 1st. Congratulations to both on a great showing!

2nd place went to Don Kleifgen weighing in 4 fish at 6.27 lbs. Don's partner didn't show up so he was forced to fish alone. Don was fishing the trees but didn't mention what he was using. Don won the Championship tournament last year at Willow Springs/Fool Holoow lake. Congratulations on a fine finish during a tough day of fishing.

3rd place went to television host Johnny Johnson who brought in 3 fish at 5.02 lbs. Brad Savrage was Johnny's partner and finished 2nd in the amateur division due to Don Kleifgen's partner not showing up. This will put Johnny about a point and a half behind 1st place overall Stan Culling, who brought in a huge stringer to win at Rainbow Lake last month. Johnny finished 1st overall last year and is already nipping at Stan's heels. The consistant echo of footsteps I mentioned last month have become a little louder.
