Fool Hollow Lake.. No Fooling!

Johnny Johnson Nathun Koreny 1st

Remember that consistent echo of footsteps I was talking about? Well, they've arrived! Television host Johnny Johnson managed to nudge his way past Stan Culling to take over the 1st place spot in the race for the coveted Angler of the Year award in The White Mountain Bass Club Top Ten when him and amateur partner Nathun Koreny brought in a whopping five fish limit of 14.34 lbs. to take 1st place this weekend at Fool Hollow Lake. This is Johnny's first win of the year, putting him about 13 points ahead of Stan Culling, who ended up with a 4th place finish. In the amateur division, Nathun is miles ahead of the competition with a 35 point spread between him and 2nd place Brad Savrage. Nathun managed to haul in the 2nd and 3rd Big Fish of the day weighing 4.02 and 3.66 lbs. respectively. Topwater was the key early in the day as Johnny pulled in a limit for the team within the first hour of the tournament. They later switched to sluggo's in the afternoon to end up culling six fish on the day before weigh-in.

Now that's some In Your Face fishing!

1st Place

Doug Coplan Larry Kress 2nd

Doug Coplan remains a consistent competitor. Bringing in 5 fish for a total of 10.36 lbs., him and amateur partner Larry Kress took home a 2nd place win to get him within just over a point shy of 2nd place Stan Culling in the race for Angler of the Year. Doug is sponsored by Tempe Marine, who is surely happy with his performance this year.

Don Kleifgen 3rd

3rd place goes to Don Kleifgen with a stringer of bass ( including a huge 7.58 pounder ) weighing in at 9.34 lbs. Don placed 2nd at Willow Springs at the last Top Ten tournament and seems to be on a roll. Watch out for this guy!

Reese Simpson 3rd Amateur

Third place in the amateur division went Reese Simpson.

Reese has been consistant on Fool Hollow lake. He took 1st place last year here on a tough day of fishing and seems to have a nack for this lake. You can bet that most of the pros hope to draw Reese on this lake.

Good job Reese!

Don Kleifgen Big Fish

Big Fish award goes to Don Kleifgen with a large mouth tipping the scales at a healthy 7.58 lbs.!

This is the biggest fish this year. Congrats to Don on a fine catch.
