Bob Swansen Wins at Willow Springs.... AGAIN!

Bob Swansen and amateur partner Larry Kress were the only team to bring in a limit of fish at Willow Springs Lake on Aug. 4th. Bob is 2 for 2 on Willow Springs this year, setting up a tremendous comeback after starting in last place at the beginning of the year and now sitting just six points shy of second place. He has now moved up from the 5th place position to the 4th place position where the compition is extremely close between 2nd place Doug Coplan and 3rd place Stan Culling. Bob also brought in the big catch of the day, a large mouth tipping the scale at 4.71 pounds, bringing the teams weight to a total of 9.59 pounds to win the tournament. Amateur partner Larry Kress managed to pull in one or two himself and seems to be on a roll. After a 2nd place finish at Fool Hollow last month, Larry is now enjoying his first 1st place win since joining the club last year.
Congatulations to both !

Bob Swansen and Larry Kress
1st Place

After missing last months tournament at Fool Hollow Lake, Brad Savrage (right) returned to Willow Springs with a brand new boat from Tempe Marine where he and amateur partner Nathun Koreny broke it in and took 2nd place with 3 fish weighing in at 4.94 pounds. Now that's a great way to break-in a new boat! Brad has also switched from the amateur division (where he was sitting in 2nd place) to the pro division where he'll have to start all over and try to make the championship tournament with only two more regular season tournaments left. He'll have to make it to the top five by then.

Brad Savrage and Nathun Koreny
2nd place
3rd Place Pro Division

3rd place goes to television host Johnny Johnson with 3 fish weighing in at 4.13 lbs. Johnny is currently sitting comfortably in 1st place with about 19 points seperating him from 2nd place Doug Coplan.

Third place in the amateur division went to Kenny Donaldson.
Kenny Donaldson has moved up another notch to 2nd place in the amateur division, ending up with 4.01 pounds to take 3rd place. Kenny and 3rd place Reese Simpson, who took 3rd at Fool Hollow Lake last month, seem to be slugging it out mid-season with just 6 points separating them. This should be an interesting race as the season progresses.

Big Fish award goes to Bob Swansen with this one tipping the scales at 4.71 pounds.
