Johnny Johnson Takes The Win At Willow Springs

Johnny Johnson and Kenny Donaldson

After two of what Johnny Johnson would call "lack-luster" 3rd place performances at Willow Springs lake earlier in the year, television host Johnny Johnson managed to outweigh the compitition and clench the title for Angler of the Year on September 15th at the high country clear water lake. Johnson and amateur partner Kenny Donaldson brought in 9.77 lbs to take first place and a Big Fish award for Johnny. Johnson now holds the Angler of the Year title two years in a row. Congratulations!

Reese Simpson Doug Coplan

Pro Doug Coplan (right) takes 2nd with amateur partner Reese Simpson. The team brought in 3.87 lbs to the scales on what was a tough day of fishing for most anglers. Doug had a first place finish at Fool Hollow lake last month and has proven to be a consistent angler throughout the year, taking 2nd overall to finish the season and secure a spot in the two day Championship tournament to be held at Fool Hollow Lake and Rainbow Lake October 5th and 6th. Congratulations to Doug on a fine year!

Bob Swanson Nathan Koreny

3rd place goes to Bob Swanson and amateur partner Nathan Koreny. Bob would have loved to win today and end up with a sweep on Willow Springs this year as he handily won the the first two earlier, bringing in 12.22 lbs the first tournament and 9.59 lbs the next. It's ineresting to note that Bob won one of those tournaments with Nathan who has demoloished his competitors in the the amateur division this year. Though the team only brought in 1.99 lbs this time, Bob should be proud of his performance on Willow Springs Lake this year!

Big Fish - Johnny Johnson
