Father and son win the 2nd tournament of the year

Stan Culling 1st Place

Pro Stan Culling and his father, amateur Danny Culling, managed to slug it out with the competition on a very tough day of fishing at Fool Hollow Lake May 23rd. The father and son duo brought in two for a total of 4.39 lbs. Fishing was extremely slow and no limits were brought in, making the club wonder if Fool Hollow Lake could be a teer jerker the rest of the year, as it is normally a good bite this time of the year. Only time will tell. The next tournament at Fool Hollow will be Aug. 1st.

Doug Coplan 2nd Place

2nd place went to Pro Doug Coplan (right) and amateur Reese Simpson with 4.35 lbs. The team was only 4/100 of a pound behind 1st, making this one of the closest tournaments in a long while, keeping Doug in 2nd place overall behind Johnny Johnson, and keeping reese in the lead in the amatuer division by over 10 points. Reese also brought in the big bass of the day at 3.40 lbs.

Johnny Johnson 3rd Place

3rd place went to Johnny Johnson (left) and amateur Larry Kress with two bass at 2.99 lbs. This finish is good enought to keep Johnny in the lead overall by about 3.5 points in front of Doug Coplan.

It's shaping up to be another competitive season as the top three anglers from last year are off to another fine start in the race for that elusive Angler of the Year award!
