Johnson and Simpson Tough It Out For Another Win.

Johnny Johnson and Reese Simpson 1st place

The "Dog Days of Summer" have arrived here in the White Mountains and made for a very tough day of fishing for The WMBC at Rainbow Lake on June 18th. Not a single 5 bass limit was brought in, the tournament being won with a mere two fish weighing in at 3.84 lbs. by Johnny Johnson and Reese Simpson whom have been red hot this year, winning two of three Team tournaments thus far and setting a new WMBC record in the process ( Largest 5 bass limit 20.75 lbs.). This win puts Johnny and Reese back into a precarious 1st place lead of less than a point ahead of 2nd place team Doug Coplan and Walt Coplan, whom have been a juggernaut themselves, winning last months tournament at Willow Springs and taking a nice (15.43 lbs.) 2nd place at the opening tournament of the year at Rainbow Lake. You can bet that these two teams will be keeping each other honest for the rest of the season.

Johnny and Reese caught their fish on Senkos and Gene Larew craws.

David Campbell and Cham Gorman 2nd Place

David Campbell and Cham Gorman come in at 2nd place with 2 fish at 3.32 lbs., ironically, caught on Johnny Johnson's "Invader" spinnerbait.

Doug Coplan and Walt Coplan 3rd place.

3rd place comes in with 2 fish at a 2.67 lbs. by brothers Doug and Walt Coplan.

Big Fish this tournament: June 18th, Rainbow Lake

Johnny Johnson 2.59 lbs. largemouth
